The Special "FX" Page

Many people have asked us what the "FX" in Hollywood Fx Hair Studio means. 

It means Special Effects make-up, using special make-up to transform you or an actor into a Fantasy or into a gory character that normally could not be done naturally with regular make-up.  Sometimes we use prosthetic make-up, designing, sculpting, pouring and baking our own appliance pieces, giving us the ability to be more creative with our make-up design.  We also design the hair pieces that go along with the completed look, completely transforming the actor into a totally different character.  We also work on head pieces and some costumes.

Wigs are blocked and designed, then the head pieces are put together for the finished product.

This prosthetic was sculpted first,  then baked, and is now ready to be applied to the face. After it is glued onto the actor's face, it will be finished with special make-up and hair.
