Community Involvement

      Hollywood Fx Hair Studio has been very involved in our community here in Jasper, Ga.  We sit on the board of the Jasper's Merchant Association and have been in association with our community theater and Pickens High School Drama dept.  We designed the hair and  make-up for the shows  Li'L Abner and Blithe Spirit in 2007, Our Town in 2008, Steel Magnolias in 2009, and the hair and make-up for the high school shows.

 We often do get a chance to get out and entertain the community ourselves.  We were part of the Marble Festival Parade in 2006  with our Hollywood float, in 2007  with our "Hair Spray" Float, and in 2008 with Hollywood Movie Stars.

    Now our favorite is Christmas. For Jasper's first "Night of Lights" parade in 2007, we sponsored a Grinch Float and the Live Nativity. Alive with dazzling lights, our float carried the Grinch and Cindy Lou on his sled filled with all the toys from Whoville. It was thrilling to watch it make its way down the streets of Jasper, delighting the young children. What a great time we had! This has become a must every year.  In 2008 we added an opening for the parade with dancing snow flakes and a fairy named  The Spirit of the Season to start our Christmas celebration.

For 2009, the parade is "Enchanted Storybook Christmas," and will happen December 5th. Watch for more details.   

For the Georgia Marble Festival Parade 2009o,ur theme was "A Halloween Villain Rock Concert," winning Best of Show. Here are some highlights of that day.....

         We feel that we have the gift of entertaining people, so for us it's a great way to give back to the community of Jasper.  It is a great joy to see the children's faces light up when they see our entertainment.  It is not necessary to leave Jasper in order to find an exciting Christmas parade - we have one right here!

See you at the Parade! Main Street is open for the party from 3-9, and the Parade happens at 6:00.  You won't want to miss it!
